PRESS QUOTES:

"It captures the quick, steady build of rebellion as the folky lull of an acoustic intro breaks away to a brash, anthemic chorus. Saturated with heavy gang vocals, high velocity fun, and Maye's electric voice, once “Tear It Down” warms up, it doesn’t stop until it reaches its red-hot end." - The Alternative

"[Creation Of Jordan Maye is] one of 2024’s most satisfying debut albums... kick-ass... introspective... infectious." - Bust

"Maye is a generational talent, incorporating a multitude of different instruments into her work... ['Embers of a Learning Man'] comes off as Maye telling a brooding story over a fire, adding a real layer of depth to the listening experience." - EARMILK

"Good, old-fashioned queer rock ‘n’ roll... a powerful vocal performance... big, fun, Bowie-esque glam rock... beautifully moody... a powerful energy... a mesmerizing sense of imagery and storytelling... heartfelt with a powerful emotional core... cracks like thunder and ends with [a] powerful sense of emotion." - New Noise Magazine

"Maye’s prowess in the vocal and guitar-playing department help convey [her] experiences vividly, and the combined efforts of the Breiner[s] – Daniel on the drums, Eric on the guitars engineering and production – help to make this an impressively hard-hitting early release for the emerging artist." - Atwood Magazine

"Considerable talent on piano... Sometimes you try, but you just can’t move on. That’s the basic point behind Jordan Maye’s 'Embers Of The Learning Man.' But it’s more complicated than that—and so is Maye." - Magnet Magazine

"LGBTQ artists we love... captured our fancy." "['Embers Of The Learning Man' is] a percussion-heavy track laced with ‘60s classic rock psychedelic vibes." - Dallas Voice

"[''Do You Really Care' is a] stunning, intensely cathartic, stadium-ready glam-rock opus... starting with a dark intro reminiscent of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman‘ before filling out into something more akin to Pyromania era Def Leppard, including a wailing guitar solo and a stomp-clap chant chorus." - God is in the TV

“An epic first-person confessional fit for a rock opera... a meditation on life’s fleeting relationships." - Vanyaland

"Massive stadium-ready rockers that start or end with gentle contemplative pianos have been a monster-hit staple for decades: The Beatles' "Hey Jude," Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," Guns N' Roses' "November Rain," and now Jordan Maye's "Deranged" ... Maye isn't afraid to confront her darkest thoughts and openly share them with us. There's a bravery here in her candidness... shows us a secret place that few people are allowed in... Maye's song viscerally takes us to a specific time and place, as the best poets do." - Rockdafuqout

“ 'Walking On Water' is a triumphant song about finding your people and celebrating small victories." - The Q Reviews

"Every line speaks honestly... poetically... timeless yet really personal. It trancends mere song status to become an experience."

about jordan

A Berklee College of Music graduate and 2024 Boston Music Awards nominee for Singer-Songwriter of the Year, Jordan Maye blends raw storytelling with melodies that rise from whisper to wildfire. Her discography travels the space between heartbreak and healing. Built around the reverb of her Fender 12-string her music is equal parts introspection and release, capturing the moment when vulnerability turns into strength, inviting listeners to find themselves somewhere between the verses.

Jordan’s path to songwriting wasn’t some overnight revelation. It was a slow-burn devotion, lit early in her childhood home in Atlanta. She spent her formative years bouncing between piano, guitar, and voice lessons, quietly sharpening the tools she’d later use to craft her own sound. By high school, she was already cutting her teeth recording DIY demos and penning original songs.

A prestigious piano intensive at Berklee College of Music cracked open a bigger world for her, and even when the pandemic shut down campuses, Maye kept the momentum alive, enrolling remotely in a Berklee lyric writing course that only deepened her drive. It wasn’t long before she made it official, landing a spot at Berklee as a full-time student.

In 2022, Maye hit pause on school, taking a much-needed year to focus on her mental health. It was during this reset that she crossed paths with Eric Breiner, a producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist whose resume includes nearly 200 placements across film, TV, and major ad campaigns. Their first song together, “Tarot,” turned out to be the perfect match as Breiner helped shape Maye’s evolving sound. Maye returned to Berklee full-time, and together they forged the songs that would make up her debut album Creation of Jordan Maye (2024) and follow-up single “Tear It Down” (2025).

Creation of Jordan Maye is an expression of where she was at that time. It’s a collection of songs packed with towering guitars, powerhouse vocals, and raw, unflinching honesty. Maye pulls no punches, using vivid, poetic imagery to chart her journey through mental health struggles, juggling relationships with family, lovers, and friends, the rigors of full-time life at Berklee, and the deeply personal experience of transitioning.

Maye dipped into a more punk rock attitude with “Tear it Down,” capturing the spirit of rebellion, not externally, but internally by willing herself to forget the pain and trauma of heartbreak. Now, “The Puppeteer” is the first collaboration between Maye and Rebecca Soul.

Maye is enthusiastic about making a difference in the world through the music she writes, projects she takes  on, and the people she meets along the way. She believes in authenticity, truth telling, and inspiring people to find their voice.
